Fundraising events are crucial to our income. Hundreds of volunteers spend thousands of hours working on our events, which include several book sales, a spring plant sale, a Mother’s Day sale, a summer art auction, a fall Walkathon, and one or two dinners.

Recycle bottles using the CLYNK Community Cash Program
- it's easy!
1. Pick up a CLYNK packet from the library
2. Fill the enclosed green bag with returnable bottles and cans
3. Peel the sticker off the packet and place it on the green bag
4. Take the green bag to Hannaford, either in Bar Harbor or Ellsworth
5. At the CLYNK station, scan the sticker and place the green bag in the storage bin
If you can't get to a Hannaford, bring the green bag back to the Library, and we will take it there for you.
Thank you so much for using CLYNK - a win win for all!

Whether you enjoy the quiet inside the library bookshelves, the physical labor of setting up an event or something in-between, chances are the Southwest Harbor Public Library could use your help. The library is always looking for new volunteers to join the ranks and help our frugal library spend its resources carefully.
There are a variety of possible jobs listed below. Some are one-time and take place on a specific day/time, some are on-going at your own pace, and others are on-going by schedule. You can sign-up for the type of job & schedule that is right for you.
At the Southwest Harbor Public Library, volunteers help maintain the Library premises, re-stock checked out books and magazines, plan, set-up and carry out the many, many events every year and so much more.
