Granting Wishes is an exciting way to contribute to our Children’s collection! Patrons and friends are invited to donate books to commemorate important events in their lives. It may be a child’s birthday or a special event. Books are donated in memory of loved ones, both human and animal, or just a great summer! Each book is given a beautiful blue and yellow gift plate, sparkling with the fun of the program.

I love the thought of a child opening a picture book and seeing that it was given on his fourth birthday! These individual connections really matter to our young readers. 65 books were donated through Granting wishes in 2005, and for those donors, our collection has become very personal. We maintain a fabulous collection for our children, reflecting the love and pride of our small community.

The "wish list" is sometimes on paper and sometimes in my 3x5 card file. It changes fast! What I would love to do is talk with you in person, by phone, or email. Thanks to the Internet, I can usually show you what a book looks like and together we can choose the perfect book!
