The art and craft of writing, illustrating and binding books by hand is enjoying a revival in all parts of the country. Libraries and galleries, including our own, are showing these beautiful books. The Southwest Harbor Public Library has received a gift of Even a Tiny Seed Can Become a Huge Tree from the artists who made it.
A Tibetan Buddhist saying suggested the title. Words and images are by Heather Sisk. The calligraphy is by Lelania Avila.
We will be showing other hand made books to these pages. This one charmed us because of its simplicity and the fresh use of a commonplace binding technique.
